Dr. Magda Peck is a seasoned, strategic leader for the public’s health, and a ‘midwife to change’ for healthier, more just communities.  Currently,  Dr. Peck is Founder and Principal, MP3 Health, promoting strategic design, collaborative leadership and social innovation, through a lens of equity.  Her leading expertise is advancing women and children’s health.  She is Founder, former CEO (1990–2004), and ongoing Senior Advisor of CityMatCH, the national public health organization dedicated to advancing leadership, innovation and health equity for women, children and families in urban communities.  She is a current member of the HHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Infant Mortality; was a member of the initial CDC Select Panel on Preconception Health and Health Care, and co-led the National Preconception Health and Health Care Initiative, for public health practice; and was a member of the Institute of Medicine Committee on Clinical Preventive Services for Women.  Dr. Peck’s academic appointment is as Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she co-founded Nebraska’s first College of Public Health, MPH Program and Great Plains Leadership Institute.  She also served as Founding Dean of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health (2012-2015).  She earned Masters (ScM, 1983) and Doctoral (ScD, 1986) degrees from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, in maternal and child health and social policy, and is an elected member of the Alumni Council.  Dr. Peck has been widely recognized for advancing public health and social justice, most recently as the 2018 recipient of the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Martha May Eliot Award, for ‘a lifetime of service to improving child and maternal health.’
